One of the important factors of a monitor mount is the monitor size capability. This is an estimation of the size of monitors supported based on their average weights. This is not the only factor you should consider when choosing a mount. If a monitor falls within the estimated size range, it does not mean it is compatible, the mounting pattern and maximum weight should also be considered.
To confirm whether an arm or mount is compatible with your monitor, please refer to the VESA specifications and weight restrictions on the arm/mount product listing.
How Do I Find The VESA Specification?
Most Kogan mounts and monitors will conform to the VESA mounting standard. Please follow the steps below to check if your monitor's VESA specifications match up with the arm/mount.
1. Consult Your Monitor’s Listing Or User Manual For The VESA Pattern
You can find the VESA pattern in the products manual or in the ‘Specifications’ section of the monitor listing:
The VESA pattern is a fixed value, such as 200 x 200, and looks like this within the specifications:
This refers to the horizontal and vertical distance in millimetres between the mounting holes.
2. Check The Monitor VESA Is Compatible With The Wall Mount Specifications
Now that you have the VESA mounting specification of the monitor, check the VESA range of the arm/mount. This can be found under the ‘specification’ section of the arm/mount listing, as with the monitor steps mentioned previously:
The VESA Range shown here providest the largest and smallest possible screw spacings on the rear of the product, so a mount such as the above would support anything between these sizings (such as 200 x 100, or 600 x 400).
3. Confirm The Maximum Weight Capacity
Check the mount/arm’s maximum weight capacity exceeds the weight of the monitor.
The weight of the monitor can be found in the ‘Specification’ section of the listing, and the maximum weight capacity of the mount can be found within its own listing.
If the monitor VESA specification is within the mount’s compatible VESA range, the monitor should be compatible with the mount.
